Hania's Party

While in Exeter, saw an evite from Elizabeth for a party. Flew down and made it a fashionable hour late. Ania was there, from Italy. Hania, Liz's roommate, was too, and she's of to Cairo tomorrow. Ryan came. Megan Maxwell came. Noreen was there. I ran into Rose and Tom. Just an ok time. And I burned myself on a cigarette out of carelessness.

New England Adventure

I haven't seen my Grandmother in ages. She isn't doing to well, though she in perfect health at 90 years. So we made a family visit. Mark, my cousin and godfather, is a saint. We went out to Boston for dinner twice, and I saw more of the city than I had on previous trips. These photos are from Exeter and the nearby beach. I wanted to see the library after seeing My Architect the movie about Louis Kahn, but it was closed on Saturday, when I tried to go. But my aunt Janice pulled some strings in the campus security, and got me and my sister in for a private tour.

Fire in the Disco

I've been working most of these weeks with my dad here at home, daydreaming about the weekends. I came up with using the firepit for a party, and based yesterday's revelries off of that. Here was the invitation I sent out.

Peter is a 15 year old staying with us for a while. He helped out a lot preparing it, though I took him home before the festivities really started. At that point I obtained my mother's camera, and once again became a photographer. Oh how I missed it!

S'mores were being made when I got back. I went to make a flaming shot, which took a while to get lit, and was mostly undrinkable. Anthony then came to watch me, and then the opportunity to show how they do absinthe in Prague. Prague shots are painful. They involve inhaling vaporized alcohol. Amazing. In the photos the blue light is the fire. Many tried one. Many didn't finish. A few puked. Alex passed the fuck out.

Sally came. She's finished with Richmond and goes to South Africa soon. Chris Francke came, which made me happy. As did Jason. Amanda and Aerin from Alanya. In fact most everyone who came, I had invited. I guess no one else bothered, what with the financial fiascos this week. The firepit worked, someone even brought a phonebook to burn. Which it did, but then lit pages started floating everywhere and the book had to go. Also fun was spraying mouthfulls of 151 over the fire. All in all, my kind of party.

Camera phone photos

I sent my camera in for service. $112 will fix it for me, but as of yet I haven't gotten it back, making this the slowest season yet for photos. But here are two I took with my new cell phone. Gene following our first party at 1900 37th, where we christened the house Casa de Olga, or as I prefer Casa D'olga or maybe just Casa Olga, and Emilie at the Tombs on her 21st birthday.
